I've been thinking lately about just how good God is. He loved us enough to create us. He was forgiving enough to redeem us. He is patient enough to mold us. He is generous enough to sustain us. There's simply no denying it. God is good, all the time. I'm reminded of a story I just heard on an audio dramatization of The Hiding Place. A man named Brother Andrew (author of God's Smuggler) was a very good friend of Corrie ten Boom. Corrie lived through the horrific experience of living in a German concentration camp during WWII with her sister, Betsy. They served God, together, where He had sovereignly chosen to place them. A few days before they were to be released, Betsy finally succumb to the terrible living conditions, and went to be with her Savior, Whom she loved so dearly. Years later, Brother Andrew was visiting Corrie in her new home, a nice, Victorian style house, quaintly decorated. As he was leaving he said to her, "Corrie, what a wonderful home. God is good to you," to which she replied, nearly in anger, "Andrew, God was also good when Betsy died! God is always good!" I pray that I may have that mindset, that viewpoint on life. I pray that God would give me the wisdom to see life, and all its circumstances from His point of view.
