Inside a Computer's Brain

While reading JonBart's blog I found another article to a cool article concerning computers and artificial intelligence. Have you ever wondered what a computer's brain looks like? Well, a group called the ALICE AI foundation have created a computer named "ALICE" that uses artificial intelligence. If you go here you can see a map of the computers "brain" of all the words that she knows. Pretty cool huh? To read the rest of the article go here. Enjoy!

Personality Test

This must be my week for stealing cool blogs from friends, but I was reading another persons blog (Brenda Herring) and she also had a cool article about personalities. She is taking a masters level class, and she had to take a personality test online, and then read an explanation of the results. I went and took it as well, and the results were amazing! It's really easy to take, and it will only take you about 10-15 min. Simply go to http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp and take the survey. At the end it will give you four letters. Take those four letters and go to http://www.personalitypage.com/portraits.html There you will find a list of all the letters, simply find yours, click on it, and read the explanation of your four letters. It's very interesting! I'm a INTJ, what are you?

How High Can You Hear?

I was reading one of my regular bloggers [my friend JonBart (tech guy at GBS)] and he had the coolest article. Have you ever wondered how high of a pitch you can hear? Well, Ultrasonic Ringtones is a sight that will help you figure it out. It has 12 different frequencies that you can listen to as they get progressively higher, hence, harder to hear. It starts out at 8khz and goes to 22.4khz. I can hear up to 18.8khz. How about you?

IHC

IMG_3382 Resized
An interesting event occurred the Monday before IHC (Inter-Church Holiness Convention). First, for those of you who don't know, IHC is an event where a lot of the holiness churches get together for a 3-day convention in Dayton, OH. There are usually around 5-10 thousand people in attendance. Now, back to the story. I was just waking up from a nap when suddenly my cell phone rang. I answered it with my usual "Hello", but was surprised to hear the voice of the president of my college, Dr. Avery, on the other end. He then proceeded to ask me if I would be interested in helping take pictures this year at IHC because the current photographer will be leaving for the mission field. I gladly agreed, because I knew it would be something I enjoyed. So, to make a long story short, I spent the three days of IHC running around taking LOTS of picture. I took around 2,500, but only turned in around 1,200. It was a very good experience, a tiring one, but rewarding.
