Choir Tour '09
02/22/09 11:32 PM Filed in: School

Choir Tour '09 is officially underway. I'm at a place where I have wireless internet for tonight, and thought I would upload a few pictures. I don't have time to post them one by one on my blog, so I uploaded them under the "New Photos" page, and you can view them all there. We are going to Sea World tomorrow, and I will be sure to post more pics as I can. Enjoy!

Abrupt Morning

Ok, so load time for us to leave to go to our choir service this morning was 7:30am. Yeah, kinda early, but not too bad. So, I set my alarm and blissfully crept off into the land of the surreal. However, I was awoken this morning by...nothing. I simply woke up, looked over at my clock, and read 7:35am. Ughh... The most awful feeling ever! I literally lept out of bed and was already getting ready by the time I hit the other side of my room. I made it just in time for the busœ to pull out. Thank the Lord for waking me up this morning! It had to be Him because there's no other way I would have

What Think Ye of Christ?
02/05/09 01:04 AM Filed in: Personal

What do you think of Christ? Let me assure you, your answer determines your eternal destiny. Choose wisely.
D. L. Moody delivered a sermon February 27th, 1876 entitled "What Think Ye of Christ?". Although it may have been preached nearly 133 years ago, it is still one of the most powerful sermons I have ever heard. I chose to perform it for the A.C.E. Regional, and International Conventions in the spring of 2006, my senior year of high school, in the famous speech competition. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I can't even begin to enumerate how many efficacious results occurred as a result of my my working with this text.
Tonight was prayer meeting here at GBS, and the devotional was over Matthew 11:28-30, which is quoted by Moody in his sermon. It inspired me to deliver this powerful speech once again, and I pulled out the manuscript and delivered it tonight. Thanks to the tremendous help of my good friend, Nathan Gumbiner, I was able to record the sermon. I have attached a link to the 7 minute file below. Special thanks to Gumby for all of his hard work! What I thought would be a 15 min. recording session, turned into nearly 2 hour recording and post-editing marathon. Thanks again, Gumby, you're the best!
Let me clearly state my purpose in posting this speech. It is to draw people closer to Christ. If you are a Christian, may it strengthen your faith, inspire within you a greater awe at what Christ has done. If you are not a Christian, may it show you the true character of a man named Jesus Christ, and may what He has done for you, lead you to love Him, as I love Him.

Picture Update

Sorry for
taking so long in getting these updates! Isn't it
strange how in spite of your most ardent efforts to
stay on top of things, they always seems to slip into
the abysmal abyss of misplaced intentions? Well, it
happens to me anyway. Here are a few of the events
that have filled my existence lately.
I recently photographed Jessica Cravens' Senior Recital.
She did a phenomenal job!
Jessica and Jacinda performing a duet.
Lighting was definitely...tricky.
It was clear that everything was done for the glory of God.
Jessica with her accompanist, Mr. Crater.
Jessica & Jacinda
Jessica and Michael Maloyed
Jessica with Alfonso Chen & Lucas Ryder who assisted her on a song
Jaleesa jumping in front of the camera at the reception... figures
The great Nathan Gumbiner
Rachelle, Jeff, and Cassy
Isaac Owens handled the video recording of the event
The one and only, Isaac Owens
I helped with a PR team that went down to Galax, VA to represent GBS at a youth camp, and we drove through Kentucky to get there which had just been hit by a huge ice storm. It was one of the most beautiful drives I have ever taken in my life!
I love how your eye naturally follows this picture.
It was a magnificent sight!
Joe Hough was our designated driver for much of the trip.
Jenny was the team leader.
Maria also joined our quartet or PR reps.
Jenny & Maria
Just me
Joe, Maria, and Eric Going (the PR rep from Hobe Sound. A very cool guy)
May this suffice for my blatant lack of words
