13 hours 36 minutes 31 seconds until Liberation Day!

Well my fellow comrades in arms, and various onlookers, we are on the brink of victory! Long have we parried with our exasperating antagonist (school work), but alas, we have emerged victorious! We shall soon be lifted from the murky depths of despair and despondent deportment to a loftier level of lighthearted leisure. We shall make good our escape effective at 1130 hours. And then, with the suffocation of the semester subdued for a season, we shall sinuously slither our way homeward. Lest you think me a laggard for my lack of updates, I shall be unable to update this blog for an undetermined period of time due to my departure. But hope is not lost! For I shall return with renewed vigor, and a greater vitality for virtuosic blogging. Farewell my fellow compatriots and onlookers! I bid thee, adieu.

Awesome Chapel

IMG_0842
For those of you who remember the Terri Schiavo case, you may remember another name connected with the event, and that is David Gibbs III. Mr. Gibbs is a part of the Christian Law Association (CLA) and was the chief lawer assigned to the case. For chapel today we had Dr. Gibbs speak about the case and what the real story is. We heard a much different account of what happened than what the media presented to us. By the media she was presented as a (to put it bluntly) brain dead vegetable being kept alive by machines. When in reality this was not at all the case. She was handicapped, yes, but she was just as alive as any of us. She squealed with joy every time her parents came to see her. She liked music. She let the doctors know when she needed things like Tylenol or Aspirin. The only thing she could not do on her own to keep her body healthy was feed herself because her hands were not coordinated to that degree. It is truly an amazing story about the struggle to save this woman's life that stirred a nation, from the grassroots level, to the White House. Afterwards he gave everybody there a free copy of the book he wrote explaining the story in greater detail. This is truly one of the blackest marks on American history, and one which should never be forgotten.

Weekend at My Grandparents

It was arranged several weeks ago for me to preach at a youth service that was to be held at my grandparents chuch (Voice of Victory) in Waynesfield, OH. It really snuck up on me, and Thursday afternoon I was in Mr. Craven's office with a pleading look in my eye asking for his assistance. He was gracious enough to lend me aid, for which I am grateful! So, Megan and I left Saturday morning to go meet my grandparents and three cousins at an ice skating arena near Dayton. We skated there for around 1 1/2 hours before going to a Krispy Kreme donut shop for a treat. We then departed with my grandparents back to their house. Saturday night was spent talking and preparing for tomorrow. Sunday morning came soon enough. To briefly summarize it, it went...ok...not good, not a train wreck, just ok. We then had a good dinner before heading back to GBS, arriving around 5:00. It was a very good weekend, and I am glad I went.

The Reason for My Absence

IMG_0367
Sorry for the recent lack of updates, but I was on choir tour as of 2/22. It has been very enjoyable, and God has really been helping. Having said that, I think we are all very, very tired, and looking forward to getting back on campus. We traveled through many different states. Namely Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, Indiana, and Ohio. We have traveled a lot of miles with our knees on our chest in the "Big Bus." But it has truly been a great experience, and I am glad I went. We have one more service tonight around 30 min. from the school and then the tour is officially over. Again, sorry for those dwindling few of you who may have checked my blog expecting it to be updated.
